Description
Within 3 months of opening in October 1970, the 77 mile stretch of I-80 between Laramie and Walcott Junction, Wyoming was buried by 16′ of snow in 27 places. The road was closed for 10 days with winds up to 100 mph. This resulted in the Wyoming DOT beginning construction of snow fence the following year to evaluate its potential. It was proven effective by breaking up the wind to help keep roads warmer, reduce accidents and increase visibility. More than 560 miles of snow fence now helps to protect our state.
Snow Fence is a symbol to our ability to adapt and survive Wyoming winters that often create icy roads in wind chilling temperatures. A hammered finish represents ice and snow while parallel lines give tribute to a snow fence. This cuff is gorgeous with light beaming texture. A contrast of darkness on high polished Sterling Silver is breath taking.
